Providing dignity and respect, maintains quality of life
Michael Krauthamer received his bachelor’s degree in human behavioral science with a minor in social psychology from Indiana University. An accomplished musician, he has seen the positive impact of music first-hand for many years, making use of its effectiveness in eliciting strong emotions while giving calm and comfort. He is an advocate for Validation Therapy, Therapeutic Communication, and Music Therapy. Time after time, he has witnessed a high level of positive responses from patients who are considered to have "behaviors." As he watched patients gain more of their original "essence" as psychotropic medications were being reduced he was amazed. Even more important, their "behaviors" were either resolved or redirected. Whenever he can turn a frown into a smile, or communicate with someone that is believed to be non-communicative. He realizes that many more people can do the same. This has a positive impact for both caregiver and loved one. Michael is here to spread the word that behaviors CAN be resolved and positive communication restored by using a few simple, proven techniques. Walking In Their Shoes is Krauthamer’s first book.
